THE WATER BLUSHED

JOHN 1:1-14

Why did Jesus visit Earth before photography and video were invented? If everyone could have seen Him, would He not be able to reach more people? A picture really does speak a thousand words.

Ravi Zacharias argues that a word can be worth “a thousand pictures.” He quotes poet Richard Crashaw’s line, “The conscious water saw its Master and blushed,” which captures the essence of Jesus’ first miracle. Creation recognises Jesus as the Creator, and no mere carpenter could turn water into wine.

Christ calmed a storm with quiet words, causing his disciples to question His authority. Jesus warned the Pharisees that if the crowd did not praise Him, “the stones will cry out,” demonstrating that even rocks know who He is.

The Creator, Jesus, is aware of and devoted to His creation. Yet He waits for us to open up our lives to Him in every way.
