JOHN 14:1-6
Many times, people are forced to wait. We are stuck in traffic. We stand in checkout queues to make purchases. We await the arrival of relatives or friends at the airport.
Christians are also waiting for Jesus, as were the ancient Israelites. He will return as king over all of the earth, despite the fact that He previously showed up as the long-awaited Messiah. So we await Christ’s second coming today.
God is waiting too. He waits for people to recognise His glory, acknowledge that they are lost without Him, accept His love, forgive themselves, and turn away from sin. He waits for repentance as we await His second coming. What we see as God’s delay is actually His patience in waiting (2 Peter 3:9).
The Lord waits to have a connection with those He cares about. When He appeared as a newborn Jesus and the sacrificial Lamb, He made the first move. He now waits for us to accept Him as our Saviour and King.
God is waiting to fulfill His promises.
