THE VENTILATOR

JOHN 20:22

The word ‘ventilator’ has become very popular with the outbreak of the covid-19 pandemic. For patients with the worst effects of the infection, a ventilator can offer the best chance of survival.

The ventilator takes over the body’s breathing process when the lungs fails, because without breathing humans cannot survive.

One of the symbols of the Holy Spirit is breath.

Jesus didn’t just breathe on the disciples 2,000 years ago. Every time we are baptized in the Holy Spirit, it is God’s breath on us. Just imagine that. It is not a onetime thing, because like the ventilator’s work, He needs to keep us alive in the midst of all challenges.

Many Christians have experienced what happened in Acts chapter 2 (the Holy Spirit’s baptism), but we fail to look forward to Acts chapter 4 where the disciples got baptized in the Holy Spirit again.

We need to ask for the breath of God each day.

“Breathe on me, breathe on me
Holy Ghost power breathe on me
Yesterday’s gone today I’m in need
Holy Ghost power breathe on me….”
