THE SIGNIFICANCE OF A NAME

MATTHEW 1:18-25

An article claims that children in various African nations are frequently called after notable visitors, noteworthy occasions, or other circumstances that had personal significance for the parents.

The Greek name for Joshua is Jesus, which means “the Lord saves.” Many children might have been named Jesus in his day and culture, but only one was born into this world to die so that everyone who accepted Him would live eternally, be forgiven, and be free from the influence of sin.

The lyrics of a popular hymn written by Charles Wesley go like this: “Come, Thou long-expected Jesus, born to set Thy people free; from our fears and sins release us; let us find our rest in Thee.”

Jesus came to save us, transform our darkness into light, and turn our hopelessness into joy.

🙏🏻 Father, we come to You today in Jesus name.
