EXODUS 14:10-14
Given the requirements of Christian commitment, one would ask if they could last more than a year without reverting to their former sinful behavior.
The instruction to “be still” is reassuring given the temptations that permeate our environment.
The psalmist instructs, “Be still, and know that I am God” (Psalm 46:10). We learn more about God, who is our strength and refuge, and who is always there for us when we are still (v. 1).
Every day, we struggle with stress and other trying circumstances. But we can have faith that He will uphold His word as well as protect us (Isaiah 43:2) and fight for us (Exodus 14:14). May we master the art of stillness.
The Lord may calm our storms, but more often, He will calm us.
🙏🏻Be still my soul.
