THE MAKING OF A BUTTERFLY

ACTS 14:22B; HEBREWS 12:1

We usually admire butterflies because of their beautiful colours. But they metamorphose from hated and dreaded caterpillars. They make a chrysalis in which they stay and transform over time into butterflies. Most butterflies stay inside of their chrysalis for between five to twenty one days.

Like the caterpillar making his metamorphosis into a beautiful butterfly, God has designed our transformation to take place. (Job 14:14)

There is no doubt about it, we are changing all the time. We must shed this chrysalis. We are to lay weights and burdens aside. It is not easy. It is a painful, long process. But we are becoming like the butterflies – more presentable and lovable than the caterpillars.

Also, we must make sure we do not look for the easy way out. If human hands were to help the butterfly by cutting him out of the chrysalis, his wings would be drooped and unable to take flight. God knows what is best for us. He knows just how much push, stretch, and relaxation is needed to bring us out.
