REVELATION 19:4-9
I have participated in a number of wedding ceremonies. Each wedding has been distinctive and often prepared in accordance with the bride’s dreams. But one thing consistently holds true: brides steal the stage when they are dressed out in their wedding gowns, with perfectly styled hair and glowing faces.
God’s description of the church as His bride is intriguing (Revelation 19:7).
For those of us who have become weary of the state of the church, this is a real eye-opener. Even though the church often appears to be unlovable, our love for it should not stop.
We ought to accept the church for who she is. The church is the bride of Christ, and as such, it belongs to Him. He values the church highly, therefore we ought to value it similarly. No matter how flawed she may be, His love for His spouse is tremendous!
🙏 Lord Jesus, help us love Your bride, the church, and patiently correct her flaws.
