THE HAND THAT HOLDS US

ISAIAH 41:13

Harriet Tubman was born into slavery. She escaped and subsequently made some thirteen missions to rescue approximately seventy enslaved people, using the network of antislavery activists and safe houses known as the Underground Railroad. She was never caught. She was nicknamed ‘Moses’ as a result of her exploits.

What helped Harriet to succeed? A woman of great faith, she once said this: “I always told God, I am going to hold steady on you…” Her reliance on God’s guidance as she led people out of slavery was a distinctive feature of her success.

Harriet held on to God because she believed He was holding her hands and guiding her (Isaiah 41:13), and He saw her through. What challenges are we facing today? Hold steady to God as He takes hold of your hand and your life. Do not be afraid. He will help you.

Dear Lord Jesus, life is hard when we try to struggle on our own. We hold on to You today! Amen!!
