GENESIS 9:1-19
In 1987, baby Jessica McClure fell into a deep well in Texas and was rescued after 58 hours. The world celebrated her preservation. Genesis 9:1-19 shows an even greater rescue story: after the flood, God preserved Noah and his family, then established a covenant of protection and fruitfulness. The rainbow became the sign of that covenant.
This passage reveals God’s unfailing faithfulness. Though the earth had experienced judgement, God promised never again to destroy it by flood. He blessed Noah and commanded humanity to multiply and fill the earth.
God still keeps His promises today. Therefore, believers should live in obedience, gratitude, and confidence, knowing that God’s covenant love never fails.
