THE EMPTY PLATE

JAMES 2:14–18

When Jane walked through her village and saw hungry children staring at empty plates, she remembered James’ words – “What doth it profit, my brethren, though a man say he hath faith, and have not works?” She knew that Faith that only speaks but does not serve is like food that never reaches the mouth. She decided to share her small harvest, trusting God to multiply it.

James reminds us that faith and action belong together. Just as words cannot fill a stomach, faith without deeds cannot show Christ’s love to a needy world.

Today, I will not ignore the cries around me. I am trusting that you will not ignore those around you too. Our faith must be seen in our giving, serving, and compassion.

🙏 May the Lord make your faith active through love and generous hands, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
