NEHEMIAH 6:1-9, 15
Lee Kuan Yew, Singapore’s first prime minister, is credited with shaping the country into what it is today. Under his leadership, Singapore became one of the most developed countries in Asia, becoming rich and prosperous. During his many years of public service, he was asked if he ever felt like giving up when he faced criticism and difficulties. He responded, “This is a lifelong commitment.”
Nehemiah, who took the initiative in Jerusalem’s wall reconstruction, exhibited tenacity. In addition to abuse from his own people, he was subjected to taunts and threats from enemies all around him.
The wall was built in 52 days, despite the obstacles. However, Nehemiah’s task was not finished. He urged the people of Israel to read the Bible, to worship, and to uphold God’s law. Nehemiah dedicated his entire life to guiding the populace.
Life presents obstacles and hardships to each of us. But just as God supported Nehemiah, He will empower us to do the duties He gives us for the rest of our lives.
🙏 Lord Jesus, strengthen our hands!
