STAY A WHILE

HEBREWS 11:8-13

Someone once stated that he preferred reading stories rather than watching them in movies. “I can spend as much time as I want with a book,” he claimed. Whatever our preference, there is something wonderful about savouring a book for as long as we like, even the Bible and its stories!

Nineteen people are mentioned by name in Hebrews 11, which is often known as “the faith chapter” of the Bible. Despite facing challenges and having doubts, each person made the decision to follow God. They acknowledged that they were foreigners and strangers on earth. They did not receive all the things that had been promised, but that did not deter them from believing (v.13).

It is far too simple to rush over sections of the Bible, reading without giving the characters, incidents, or content any thought. A fresh message on our phones, for example, can occasionally prevent us from delving further into God’s truth and His purpose for our lives. However, if we can set aside some time to just concentrate on God and read the Bible for a while, we will find ourselves engrossed in the true stories of individuals just like us who made the decision to live their lives wholly for God.

It is a good idea to set other things aside and take our time when we open the Bible.

🙏🏼Lord help us to stay a while longer in the Bible.
