NUMBERS 33:1–15, 36–37
Numbers 33, a chapter in the Bible, details Israel’s pilgrimage from Rameses in Egypt to the plains of Moab. It is significant because it follows the Lord’s command, as recorded by Moses (Numbers 33:2).
The record of the Israelites’ journey suggests it may serve as a framework for reflecting on their forty-year journey and reminiscing about God’s faithfulness at each location.
I envision an Israelite father recalling dying of thirst for hundreds of miles. God directed Moses to strike a hard slab of flint, causing water to guzzle out, satisfying the thirst of thousands of Israelites. This event will never be forgotten.
Why not attempt it then? Go back over your life, stage by stage, and recall all the instances where God has shown you His unwavering, covenantal love.
