ROUTINE WITH A PURPOSE

1 CORINTHIANS 9:19-27

Someone once said a rolling-ball clock in the British Museum provided a striking example of how routine can weary a man’s mind. The steel ball made about 2,500 miles of back-and-forth travel each year, but it never truly went anywhere.

When we are unable to discern a greater goal, it is simple for us to feel imprisoned by our everyday routine. The apostle Paul yearned to effectively spread the message of Christ. (1 Corinthians 9:26). Traveling, preaching, teaching, and especially being imprisoned can become monotonous activities. Paul, though, was convinced that no matter what, he could serve Christ, his Lord.

When we are unable to find a reason for our routine, it becomes harmful. Paul was engaged in the race of faith; therefore, his perspective extended beyond all restrictions. He found significance in everyday life by incorporating Jesus into every facet of it.

We can do it too.

🙏🏻 Jesus, transform our routine into meaningful service for You.
