LUKE 9:18-27
As the global financial crisis worsened in 2010, executives of a global banking company were under investigation for misleading clients about the risk of certain assets they had sold. Although the banking company promised high returns, it knew that investments were doomed and buyers would be at risk of loss.
Deception is not new. Jesus described Satan as someone who is not sincere because there is no truth in him. He is a liar and the father of lies (John 8:44). The enemy of our soul tells us to live for the present only when he knows it will lead to our eternal loss.
Jesus, on the other hand, did not offer his disciples a life of prosperity and ease, but called them to personal sacrifice and to identify with Him.
There are two voices telling us where to invest our life. Following the wrong one is a risky business.
🙏🏼Lord Jesus, we hold on to Your truth. May we never be trapped by Satan’s lies.
