REWARDS THAT LAST

1 CORINTHIANS 9:24-27

Being an athlete is difficult, especially when you’re competing all year long in your chosen sport. To be the best, you must train frequently, maintain mental stability, and, most importantly, taking care of your body.

Sometimes the worth of hard work is overlooked. Athletes put their body through strenuous training in order to receive perishable medals for their achievements. However, it is not just the medals that are perishable. People’s memories of their accomplishments fade with time. Followers of Christ should put in effort to obtain an imperishable crown if sportsmen can sacrifice so much for earthly riches that will be forgotten (1 Timothy 4:8).

Medals, trophies, and money are awarded to athletes for their dedication and effort. Our Heavenly Father, on the other hand, rewards His children’s discipline (Luke 19:17).

God will never forget our selfless service to the One who first loved us.

Sacrifice for the sake of the kingdom is always rewarded.

🙏🏼 Lord, we thank You for the opportunities to use the gifts You have given us for Your service today.
