1 TIMOTHY 6:6
For many, the first day of each year is the day when decisions are made to improve. Most will be for financial, business, or personal wellness goals.
There is nothing wrong with that.
However, as children of God, we must pay attention to the motivation behind every resolution we make. Do our goals result from a state of dissatisfaction?
Saying, “I will not be satisfied until this happens” can imply that God is not enough for us now. And if God is not enough now, it means that we will strive to achieve the goals on our own.
Remember that godliness with contentment is great gain. Unlike the riches of the world, the riches of God cannot be taken from us. When we are content, we position ourselves to be blessed by God.
Once we know who we are in Christ, every decision we make should be in Him and for Him.
Perhaps a good practice at the start of every new year is to simply choose to be content.
🙏🏼 Lord help us to be content in You with what You have given us and to not be focused on what our flesh wants or the world tells us we should have.
