JOHN 8:42-47
A lost hiker ignored calls for hours, mistaking them for the wind — until a trusted friend’s voice broke through the noise. That voice saved his life. When we are surrounded by confusion, the voice we respond to can mean the difference between rescue and ruin.
In John 8:42–47, Jesus challenged the Jews, saying they could not hear God because they do not belong to Him. In verse 44, He made a strong statement: they were listening to their true father — the devil, “the father of lies.” They had become so used to deception that truth no longer registered.
This is a sobering reminder: the voices we trust shape our beliefs, choices, and future. God speaks truth through His Word and His Spirit. The enemy speaks confusion and lies. Which voice do we recognise?
🙏 May the Lord help you to reject lies and follow only His voice of truth, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
