JOSHUA 20:1-9; PROVERBS 18:10
I considered the cities of refuge described in Joshua 20:1–9 as I visited and spoke with the refugees. For people escaping those seeking revenge in the event of an unintentional killing, these cities were designated as refuges. They provided safety and tranquilly.
Even now, people still look for safe havens for food, shelter, and protection, despite their limited capabilities. True refuge and a safe haven are only found in God.
We can boldly affirm with the psalmist that the Lord is our hiding place, that He will keep us safe from harm, and that He will surround us with songs of deliverance (32:7).
🙏🏻 Lord Jesus, help us to remember that even in the darkest of nights, You are our strong tower.
