EPHESIANS 5:1-13
The reign of Queen Elizabeth II lasted seventy years. Her reign was distinguished by grace and beauty. She was devotedly loved and held in high regard since she gave her life to effectively serve her people. You can see the significance of the flag flying over Buckingham Palace. When the flag was flying, it signified that the queen was present in the center of London. The flag served as a visual representation of the queen’s presence among her subjects.
As I was reflecting on it, it came to me that our King Jesus, who is our “never leave you nor forsake you” monarch, resides in our hearts (Hebrews 13:5). I wonder if anyone around us would be able to tell that He is in residence simply by the way we live, as great as it is for us personally. If He is within us, this should manifest outside of us. We should emulate God, says Paul, and practice loving others as Christ has loved us (Ephesians 5:1-2). We will exhibit joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control as we go about our business (Galatians 5:22–23).
Let us therefore raise the banner of His presence – the banner of His grace, righteousness, and love – so that others may see Him through us.
🙏Lord, may we remember that Your presence in our hearts
is intended to be a public reality.
