PREPARATION

ROMANS 5:1-11

Like her friends, my cousin Franca was busy preparing for adulthood. At school, she prepared for university by taking the right subjects.

Outside of the classroom, she learned the social skills to get along with people by spending time with friends and classmates. In her part-time job, she acquired the interpersonal skills necessary for a subsequent career. She prepared for the future family life by experiencing the Christian family lifestyle.

Preparing for adult life takes work and Franca was making good progress.

But none of those preparations were what she needed in 2019 when she died in a car crash at the age of 16. The only preparation that was important was her readiness for heaven.

When, on that beautiful night, the door to eternity was opened to Franca, the truest test of preparation suddenly came, she was ready.

When she faced the final test of being prepared, Franca was ready. Are we?
