PSALM 150
Asamoah Gyan of Ghana and his teammates performed a coordinated dance step following Asamoah Gyan’s goal against Germany during the 2014 World Cup. A few minutes later, Germany’s Miroslav Klose scored and performed a running front flip. According to Clint Mathis, a US World Cup goal scorer, “soccer celebrations are so appealing because they reveal players’ personalities, values, and passions.”
In Psalm 150, the psalmist asks all living things to rejoice and give thanks to the Lord in a variety of ways. He advises that we dance and make use of instruments such as trumpets, harps, etc.
Though we may celebrate the Lord in many ways, our praise to God always needs to be expressive and meaningful. When we consider the Lordβs character and His remarkable accomplishments toward us, we cannot help but celebrate Him through our praise.
ππ»ββοΈπ§πΎββοΈ Lord, we praise You.
