DEUTERONOMY 8:11-18; ECCLESIASTES 12:1
National anthems from all across the world, including those from Africa, frequently mention God as the Creator and Provider. Other anthem lyrics encourage reconciliation, change, and hope for a people that is frequently split along racial, political, and social lines.
However, many national leaders and individuals today have a tendency to disregard God and not adhere to these principles, especially when things are going well. But why do we not remember to seek God before disasters like war, illness, storms, terrorist attacks, or election-related violence strike? Moses admonished the ancient Israelites not to forsake God and not to quit following His ways when life was good (Deuteronomy 8:11).
Being close to God now, while we are healthy and strong, equips us to rely on Him for strength and encouragement when those “difficult days” in life come.
🙏Father, we always need You. Forgive us for thinking we are sufficient in ourselves, in Jesus’ Name.
