LUKE 11:1-13
Our text today is one of many passages in the Bible that refer to God as Father. I find it fascinating and enlightening that God emphasised His fatherhood when He wanted us to know who He is.
From Jesus’ prayer, we know that our Heavenly Father is available and attentive to us. It is also clear that He takes care of us, forgives us and protects us from harm.
What a wonderful role model for fathers on earth! God sets the pace for fathers. Our children may not be in awe of the books we write, the titles we have or the places we have reached, but they yearn for our time and care, basic needs satisfaction, a love that patiently forgives and creating a safe place to grow and mature. This is a short, but very detailed list of parenting responsibilities.
And what about those who do not have a father to provide for these needs? Be encouraged that if you have been redeemed by Jesus, you will have a perfect Heavenly Father and He will be the best Father of all.
🙏 Thank You, God, for being our Father, Shepherd, Guardian, and Guide.
