HEBREWS 6:13-20
Estella Pyfrom purchased a bus, furnished it with computers and desks, and began driving “Brilliant Bus” around to give at-risk children a place to do their schoolwork and learn technology after she retired from teaching. Children who may otherwise be persuaded to give up on their hope for a better tomorrow were given stability and hope by Estella.
The Christian community faced an onslaught of hardship and discouragement in the first century. Hebrews’ author aimed to persuade these Christ-followers to maintain faith in their enduring hope. Their faith in God for salvation and entry into heaven was found in the person and death of Christ, and this gave them hope. The death, resurrection, and ascension of Jesus act like an anchor in the sea, keeping the ship from floating away.
The believers’ lives were made more secure by Jesus’ death, resurrection, and ascension to heaven. This future hope cannot and will not be shaken.
Jesus serves as an anchor for our souls, preventing us from losing faith in God.
🙏🏻 Jesus, our hope is anchored in You.
