ROMANS 7:14–25
David Nasser’s book, Jumping Through Fires, tells his spiritual journey. He was befriended by Christian teens, but he witnessed one of them telling a lie. Feeling convicted, his friend confessed and asked for forgiveness. This incident drew him closer to Christ.
It is okay to admit our mistakes and struggles, as Paul openly referred to himself as the worst sinner. He described his wrestling match with sin in Romans 7, where he had the desire to do good but could not carry it out. Unfortunately, the evil he did not want to do continued to be committed.
Openness to our struggles connects us to all humans, ensuring we belong. However, our sins are forgiven through Jesus Christ, ensuring our eternal salvation. As the saying goes, “Christians are not perfect, just forgiven.”
