JOHN 3:1–8, 13–16
A publisher made a significant mistake by republishing a book after several years of market presence. The author rewrote the book, but when it was published, the publisher changed the cover but not the inside of the book.
The exterior was fresh and new, but the interior was old, making this “reprint” not truly new.
Sometimes, people realise they need to make a change in their lives, but they may not realise it is only God who can change them on the inside. They may change their behaviour on the outside but not their hearts, leading in the wrong direction.
In John 3, Nicodemus realises Jesus’ unique offer of a rebirth, requiring him to be “born again” and made completely new. This change is only possible through faith in Jesus Christ, as the old has passed and the new is present (2 Cor. 5:17). If you need a change, put your faith in Jesus, who changes your heart and makes all things new.
