HEBREWS 12:1-11
In 1952, Florence Chadwick attempted to swim 26 miles from California to Catalina Island but faced heavy fog and disorientation, giving up just 1 mile short of her destination.
Two months later, Chadwick tried a second time to swim to Catalina Island from the coast and eventually reached her destination. She became the first woman to swim the Catalina Channel. Chadwick claimed that even when she was unable to view the shoreline, she continued to visualise it.
Life’s problems can cloud our vision, but we can see our goals through faith. The New Testament encourages perseverance and fixation on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. When tempted to quit, remember Jesus’ suffering and His help to endure until we see Him face-to-face.
🙏 Dear Lord Jesus, sometimes the challenges of life seem insurmountable. Help us to fix our eyes on You and trust You.
