MUCH BETTER THAN BEFORE

2 KINGS 5:1-15

My babies had almost flawless skin as infants. They had smooth skin throughout; neither their feet nor their elbows had any rough areas. It contrasted with my skin, which was embellished with numerous scars and blisters from years of use. It was smooth and new.

Naaman may have had battle scars and scuffed skin from his feats as a warrior, but he also had leprosy, a serious skin condition. He was the commander of the Syrian army. Naaman visited the prophet Elisha after hearing that he could be healed. He was originally resistant to Elisha’s advice, but after obeying, his sick flesh changed to resemble “the flesh of a small child” (2 Kings 5:14). Naaman’s health and spirituality were improved by this encounter.

Like Naaman, we can get valuable insights about God as a result of our experiences in life. Experiencing a blessing may reveal to us the mercy and goodness of God (Matthew 7:11). We may come to understand God’s sufficiency and care through surviving or enduring a trial. We will always be in a better spiritual position than when we started as we grow in our understanding of Him (2 Peter 3:18).

🙏Father, help us to learn more about You as we travel through this life, in Jesus’ Name.
