JAMES 1:19-27
How frequently do you look at yourself in a mirror? According to certain research, the average person glances in the mirror 8β10 times every day. Others claim that if looking at our reflections on smart phone screens and store windows is included, we may do so approximately 60 to 70 times per day.
Why do we check so much? The majority of people concur that it is important to assess our looks, particularly before meetings or social events. We wish to correct any issues as soon as possible.
The apostle James once compared not acting on what we learn from reading or hearing the Bible to seeing in a mirror and then forgetting what we saw (1: 22β24).
If we hear God’s word but do nothing about it, we are merely fooling ourselves (v. 22). But God frees us from anything that prevents us from becoming more and more like Him every day when we evaluate ourselves in light of His Word and follow His commands.
ππ»Dear Lord, as we look at Your Word in 2023, may our lives change for good in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
HAPPY NEW YEAR!
