LETTERS OF RECOMMENDATION

2 CORINTHIANS 3:2

I have had the opportunity to write recommendation letters for a number of individuals. I really enjoy writing these letters because I have seen the benefit they bring to people while interviewing for a job, seeking an admission, etc. But the truth remains that recommendation letters may fail to achieve the desired results.

Paul did not need anyone to write recommendation letters for him, because people could look at the Corinthians to see how his message has affected their lives. Likewise, others learn about God by watching us.

While men may refuse to recognize a documented physical letter of recommendation, the Church has far better letters to present to them. Yes, far better than any handwritten, typed or printed letters.

Our letters are written on human hearts by means of God’s Spirit and manifested as the fruit of the spirit, which is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance. (Galatians 5:22, 23) They are read by men daily.

“Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.” (Matthew 5:16)
