MARK 14:3-9
Timothy needed to buy his children some little presents. The gift shop employee gave several expensive suggestions. He remarked, “I need something lower.” The shopkeeper tried to convince him that he was being cheap. But he was confident that, no matter what he gave his children, they would be content with it since it came from a heart of love.
Mary brought a very expensive alabaster jar of spikenard oil and anointed Jesus to show her love for Him. Jesus was delighted by her gift since it was given from a place of love. It was even beautiful to anoint Him for burial!
What do you want to give to Jesus as a token of your love? Your energy, skill, and resources? It does not matter whether others accept it or criticise it, whether it is expensive or cheap, if it is from our heart. His eyes are drawn to anything that is presented out of love.
🙏🏻Nothing I could give You, Jesus, could repay You for Your sacrifice. But I want to give You what You would think is beautiful.
