ROMANS 8:14-17
The other day, a friend stopped me with some great news and spent ten minutes telling me about her one-year-old nephew’s first steps. He was able to walk! Later, I understood how strange we may have sounded to someone listening in. Nearly everyone can walk. What is all the fuss about?
It occurred to me that childhood offers a dimension of uniqueness that almost completely disappears for the rest of life. I became even more appreciative of the fact that God uses the word image of “children” to define our relationship with Him after reflecting on how we treat children.
God, in my imagination, watches each halting step I make in my spiritual “walk” with the same excitement a parent has when their kid takes their first step.
Possibly, when the universe’s mysteries are completely revealed, we will understand the deeper significance of watching children develop. It is possible that God has given us these exceptional moments to make us aware of His boundless love. Our experiences on earth are but fragments of the fullness of that love.
🙏🏻 Increase our awareness of Your love for us and Your joy in us, loving heavenly Father, so that we might demonstrate to the world the difference You make in our lives.
