I AM LOVED BY JESUS

ROMANS 8:31-39

Triumph, our old dog, wandered around the yard before she died, finding a sunny spot to stretch out on the grass to keep herself warm on cold days.

This reminds me that we all must keep ourselves in God’s love. That does not really mean we have to do anything extraordinary to earn His love (although our desire is to please Him). We are loved because we are His children, no matter what we do or do not do. Instead, it suggests that we should meditate on His love all day and bask in its warmth and light.

Nothing will ever be strong enough to separate us from God’s love (Romans 8:39). He loved us before we were ever born, and He continues to love us today. We are His cherished children, and this is our identity in Christ. It is a thought to ponder throughout the day.

In his gospel, John repeatedly refers to himself as the disciple whom Jesus loved (13:23; 19:26; 20:2; 21:7,20). Jesus loved everyone of His disciples, but John was ecstatic that Jesus loved him! If we adopt John’s theme, we can say to ourselves all day, “I am the disciple Jesus loves!” As we carry that truth with us throughout the day, we can revel in the warmth of His love!

🙏🏼 REFLECT AND PRAY:
“I am so glad that our Father in heaven
Tells of His love in the Book He has given;
Wonderful things in the Bible I see,
This is the dearest, that Jesus loves me.

I am so glad that Jesus loves me,
Jesus loves me, Jesus loves me;
I am so glad that Jesus loves me,
Jesus loves even me.”
