JOHN 21:15-22
Although there are many uses for social media, satisfaction is not one of them. Even when we have good intentions, it can be discouraging to constantly be reminded that others have already achieved their goals or have done so more successfully. Yet, God has not wronged us. Everything we require to complete the work He wants us to undertake has already been provided for us by Him.
This idea came up during a conversation between Jesus and Peter. Jesus explained to Peter what will happen at the end of his life after preparing breakfast on the shore of Galilee. Peter pointed at another disciple and said, “What shall this man do?” “What is that to thee?” Jesus asked him.
When I compare myself with others, I should ask myself that question. “None of my business,” is the answer. My goal is to follow Jesus and use the opportunities and gifts He gives me to be faithful.
