HIS ENCOURAGING PRESENCE

HEBREWS 13:1–6

Mary, a vibrant and blessed person, was diagnosed with cancer. Despite her remission, her cancer returned, and her husband and I were devastated. Mary’s last hours were filled with sorrow and a desire for his loving presence. She whispered to him, “Just be with me,” as she was weak and unable to talk. We knew she was too young to die.

The writer to the Hebrews reassured readers by quoting Deuteronomy 31:6, where God promises never to leave or forsake His people. This assurance of His loving presence provides comfort, grace, wisdom, and empathy for weaknesses, ensuring that we are not alone in our struggles and that He is always working for us.

Let us embrace the blessing of His loving presence, confidently declaring that “The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me.” (13:6).
