HELLO! MY NAME IS HYPOCRITE!!

MATTHEW 7:3-5

Hypocrisy, from the Christian perspective, is claiming to believe in and follow Jesus’ commandments but behaving in a contrary manner.

Webster’s says a hypocrite is a person who pretends to have virtues, moral or religious beliefs, principles, etc., that he or she does not actually possess, especially a person whose actions contradict stated beliefs.

While there are hypocrites in the churches, there is no place for them in the heaven. God’s promises are for believers, not for those who only pretend to believe. Some of the harshest warnings in the Bible are reserved for the great pretenders, the ones who claim a life of faith but practically deny it.

It is good to check ourselves from time to time, to know if we have drifted into hypocrisy.
