1 KINGS 8:22–30
A young woman once planted a seed in her garden. Although nothing appeared above the soil for weeks, she continued watering it, trusting that growth was taking place beneath the surface. In the same way, we must trust God’s Word even when we cannot immediately see the fulfilment of His promises.
In our Bible passage, Solomon praises God for keeping His covenant with David. He acknowledges that God has fulfilled His promise and earnestly asks Him to fulfil the remaining ones. Solomon’s prayer reminds us that God is faithful and His Word can be trusted.
When circumstances seem contrary to God’s promises, do not lose heart. Continue to pray, obey His Word and wait patiently for His appointed time. Remember His past faithfulness and remain grateful for His blessings. God’s timing may differ from ours, but we can confidently depend on His character and promises.
