GOD OUR GPS

PSALM 16

The Global Positioning System (GPS) tells us where we are on Earth. It is a system that can show the exact position of a person or thing by using signals from satellites.

Psalm 16 was written at a time of uncertainty and turbulence in David’s life – a time when he needed direction to make far reaching decisions. Saul wanted him dead, even though he had done nothing wrong against him. He had been anointed as king, yet he found himself an outcast and a runagate of Israel.

David chose to trust God, no matter the state of affairs, and he did that by depending on Him for direction. He made God his GPS.

At times, in our Christian walk, we come to a point that we need to know the direction God is leading us. We need to hear His counsel.

He will never lead us down the wrong road or leave us when the path gets stony. Although we may not always understand why He steers us on a particular road, we can be assured that He knows how to get us safely to our final destination.
