MATTHEW 21:28–32
Imagine a young person whose parents ask him to help clean the house before visitors arrive. He cheerfully said, “Yes, I will,” but became distracted by his phone and never did it. Another initially says, “I don’t want to,” but later puts aside what he is doing and completes the task. At the end, the second person is the one who actually obeyed.
In Matthew 21:28–32, Jesus tells of two sons. One promised to work but did not, while the other initially refused but later obeyed. Jesus shows that genuine devotion to God is demonstrated by obedience, not merely words.
God is not looking only for people who say the right things. He wants us to practise His Word. Today, let your actions agree with your faith, especially when obedience is inconvenient.
🙏May God strengthen you to obey His Word, live out your faith, and honour Him through your actions. Amen.
