ROMANS 3:10–26
A lot of people, including families, marriages, organisations, and even countries, are described as dysfunctional. Functionality denotes that a thing is in good operating order, whereas dysfunctionality denotes that something is damaged, improperly operating, or unable to accomplish its intended purpose.
Paul’s letter to the Romans describes a spiritually dysfunctional humanity where everyone has turned away and become worthless. All have sinned and fallen short of God’s glory, making no one good or doing good.
God’s grace allows all to be justified through Christ Jesus’ redemption, which can be received through faith. By inviting Christ into our lives and accepting His forgiveness, we can become the person He created us to be, no longer broken or dysfunctional.
The Holy Spirit provides daily strength to honour God in our actions and words, urging us to abandon our old selves and adopt a new, true righteousness and holiness, as described in Ephesians 4:22–24.
🙏 Lord, in our dysfunctional lives, we turn to you for restoration and strength.
