MATTHEW 26:39-42; 27:45-46
“It sometimes seems as though God is not paying attention to me.” These are the heartwrenching remarks of a woman who struggled to maintain her Christian walk while dealing with an alcoholic husband. She prayed to God for her husband’s change for many years. The thing is, it never happened.
What should we believe when we ask God for something good—something that may easily glorify Him—and He is silent? He is listening, or is He not?
Take a look at the Saviour’s life. Jesus had to be sent by God to the cross to die. He prayed earnestly and passionately because He knew that God was hearing Him, even though He felt as though His Father had abandoned Him.
When we pray, we might not be able to discern God’s plan or comprehend how He will make everything work out for the best. So we must have faith in Him. We give up our rights and allow God to act in our best interest.
The unknown must be left in the hands of the All-Knowing One. He is paying attention and resolving issues in His own way.
🙏🏻 Lord, we do not need to know why our prayers sometimes go unanswered. Help us just to wait for Your time.
