Acts 16:9-34
Have you ever found yourself in a tight spot? Like in the park while you are waiting for a taxi? That can get a little irritating. But what if you spent the entire day stranded in an airport in a completely different country?
In any case, airports can be boring. But for a full day? Ouch!
How frequently are we delayed or forced to alter our plans? When this happens, we become irritated. But what if we tried using that extra time to spread the good news of Jesus? Perhaps some of our delays present new opportunities to work with God.
Consider Paul’s journey to Philippi in Acts 16. Due to a vision from God, he had traveled to Macedonia (vv. 9–10). How was he to know that he would spend time behind bars there? However, even that visit to the jail was planned by God, who used Paul to lead the jailer and his family to Christ (vv. 25–34).
Even our difficulties, hiccups, and delays may be opportunities for God to reveal Himself. He can transform obstacles into possibilities.
🙏Lord Jesus, help us see the opportunities in our delays.
