JOHN 1:3-5
“As with gladness men of old
did the guiding star behold;
as with joy they hailed its light,
leading onward, beaming bright;
so, most gracious Lord, may we
evermore be led to thee”
(Hymns Ancient and Modern 79)
In the same way that God’s wondrous gift came to Bethlehem, so Christ comes into our lives today to casts out our sins and fears if we are willing to have Him abide in our lives. How beautifully the glorious message of Christmas that lingers still and even as we look towards the Epiphany (manifestation of Christ to the Gentiles).
As the stars shine in the heavens, may we be led to Him as the wise men of old were led. May the epiphany light up our hearts and our world.
