“BECAUSE YOU PRAYED”

ISAIAH 37:9–22, 33; PHILIPPIANS 4:6

How do you handle your concerns? Which way do you turn them—upward or inward?

As Assyrian King Sennacherib prepared to destroy Jerusalem, he sent a message to King Hezekiah, stating that Judah would be like all conquered nations. Hezekiah shared this message in the temple in Jerusalem, praying for help from God, as stated in Isaiah 37:14.

God miraculously conquered the enemy forces outside the city gates, causing the Assyrian army to leave without firing an arrow. Sennacherib would never return.

Because Hezekiah prayed, God intervened (Isaiah 37:21). This indicates to us where we should direct our concerns. God saved Hezekiah and his people because he turned to Him. We find that God is surprisingly dependable when we transform our anxieties into prayers!

🙏 Help us, Father, to turn our worries into prayers. It is best that you handle our difficulties rather than ourselves.
