JOHN 16:17-24
All of us have experienced the loss of loved ones. Children get married and move abroad. For professional or health reasons, our parents are no longer with us. A child leaves home to attend school in another state or country. It is true that we have SMS, email, and WhatsApp. But we are here, and they are there. And then there is the separation of death.
But as believers in Christ, we have God’s assurance that we are never alone. He did not go anywhere, even though we felt alone. The Lord is here now, always, and forever (Matthew 28:20; Hebrews 13:5).
A secret plea, a whispered mention of His name, or even just imagining Him gives us comfort and reassurance. He is as close as saying His name.
Jesus never leaves or neglects His own.
