HAGGAI 2:15–23
Upon meeting my new friend, I noticed a ring on his finger. With time, I learned that the ring revealed his family’s history through an engraved family crest, making it a unique and meaningful experience.
Haggai, the prophet, urged God’s people to start rebuilding the temple after being exiled. Haggai’s message included God’s promise to Zerubbabel that he would be chosen and set apart as their leader, like a signet ring.
In ancient times, signet rings were used for identification, with people pressing their ring into wax or clay to make their mark. As God’s children, we can make a difference by spreading the gospel, sharing His grace, loving our neighbours, and ending oppression.
Each person possesses a unique stamp revealing their creation in God’s image and expressing their unique gifts, passions, and wisdom, and it is our privilege to act as this signet ring in God’s world.
As His heirs and representatives, set apart to spread God’s love across the world.
