MATTHEW 1:18-25
A name is a word or phrase by which a person or thing is known, addressed or referred to.
Most parents have the option of naming their newborn baby, but a baby received His name in a completely different way. It was not His parents’ choice that led to His name. I am talking about the One whose name was given by an angel who told His parents to call His name Jesus (Matthew 1:21). Why? Because He will save His people from their sins.
No wonder His name is above all names (Philippians 2:9). It is a name that reveals His intention to seek salvation for men – salvation from the punishment for their sins. In fact, Jesus is a remarkable name.
🙏 Father, we come to You today for our salvation and restoration in the name of Jesus.
