1 KINGS 9:1–9
A farmer who neglects his garden soon finds weeds choking the crops. In the same way, when we neglect our spiritual lives, sinful habits can take root and weaken our walk with God. A life of holiness requires daily attention and commitment.
In 1 Kings 9:1–9, God appeared to Solomon after the temple’s dedication. He promised to establish his throne if he remained faithful and obedient. However, He warned that turning away from Him would bring judgement and the temple’s destruction.
As believers, our bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 6:19). We must therefore guard our hearts, reject sinful practices and pursue holiness. Let our words, thoughts and actions honour God continually.
