God the Father compares Himself to a nursing mother.
A mother, especially if she is nursing her child, expresses the kind of love that will rise up one hundred times in the night for that child. The kind of love that will die for the child. If the child is crying from sickness or fear, this kind of love will always be available. This is the kind of love that knows no end. It will go on and on.
With fallen motherhood it is actually possible that a mother is capable of forgetting and capable of lacking compassion. But God is a greater expression of motherhood than a human mother. He is the original source and expression of motherhood. He has an infinitely greater capacity to comfort us and love us tenderly.
Simply stated, He is Father God with a mother’s heart. Waiting to wipe every tear; sitting up with us through the night; and listening to our troubles to solve them while we are yet speaking.
